TURNING HOOPS INTO HOPE
Hoops For Hope is a community-driven program created to provide financial support for youth who aspire to play AAU & Club basketball, but whose families cannot afford the hig costs associated with participation. By covering expenses such as registration fees, uniforms, travel, and training, Hoops For Hope ensures that talented young athletes are not held back by financial barriers and can pursue their passion for basketball at a competitive level.

Founder’s Background
Hoops For Hope was founded by LaMar C. Harris, better known as Mr. P.S.A — a father of five, youth mentor, entertainer, and creator of I’m Me Be You Apparel. With years of experience inspiring young people to embrace their authenticity and unlock their potential, Mr. P.S.A has dedicated his life to uplifting communities through mentorship, creativity, and leadership. As both a mentor and a father, Mr. P.S.A has seen firsthand the powerful role sports can play in a young person’s life — teaching discipline, teamwork, confidence, and resilience. He also understands the financial hardships many families face when trying to support their children’s athletic dreams. Hoops For Hope was born out of this dual perspective: the belief that no child should be denied the chance to play due to lack of resources.
Program Goals
Accessibility: Remove financial barriers so athletes of all backgrounds can participate in AAU & Club basketball.
Empowerment: Build confidence and self-esteem by giving youth the change to compete at a high level.
Mentorship: Provide guidance, mentorship, and life lessons that extend beyond the basketball court.
Community Engagement: Foster community pride by investing in the development of local youth athletes.
Funding Needs
The costs listed are per season. For Rebels Basketball Club, that means the costs recur for Fall and Spring/Summer Seasons.
So, the average costs per year are:
$4,000 per player
$40,000 per team
$480,000 for the program
